Wednesday Night Runs
Training Run
Every Wednesday - 7pm.
Meet in Luddenden Foot on the canal bridge - junction of Station Road and Burnley Road,
In multimap or google maps type postcode HX2 6AD.
There will be a small bunch of 3 to 10 riders on the bridge in usual roadie clothing. You know, garish orange trade tops, helmets with no visors, unsuitably tight lycra for men of that age.
The run is fairly short and easy in the winter months maybe taking in Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, Littlebrough, over Blackstone Edge to Ripponden and finish along the valley to The Puzzle Inn in Sowerby Bridge. It is a run of about 20 miles, in 1.5 hours or so.
In the summer we venture out over Cragg Vale ("the longest continuous ascent in England"), to Littlebrough, Hollingworth Lake, Milnrow, Denshaw, Buckstones, and then finish past Scammonden reservoir to Sowerby Bridge. 30 to 35 miles, roughly 1.5 to 2 hours.
